South Indian Journal of Biological Sciences (SIJBS) is covered by the following databases and archives
The research articles and review articles should be in MS Word format (Times New Roman; size 12 points) and the soft copy of the manuscript should be submitted via email. The text must be in double space.
The original research articles around 3000-6000 words, short communications around 1500-3000 words, and the review articles around 5000-8000 words or longer.
The research articles should contain a title, complete list of authors name, affiliations, and corresponding authors address, abstract, keywords, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, or combined results and discussion, conclusions, conflict of interest statement, funding statement, references, tables and figures.
The title should be on first page with font size of 14 and not exceed twenty five words. It should be clear, brief and descriptive. Abbreviations are not allowed.
Full name of the authors followed by the complete affiliations should be on the cover sheet only. It is the sole responsibility of the Corresponding author to ensure that all co-authors are aware and have approved each and every part/content of the submitted manuscript.
The abstract should contain maximum 300 words with objective, important methods, key findings and the conclusions. Do not cite the references in the abstract.
Four to seven keywords are required with the font size of 10
It includes brief information about the theme of the research work and the suitable reference should be coated in the text as first author(s) name and year of publications. If the reference is more than three authors, it should be mentioned as et al. It should be understandable to researchers working in wide range of research disciplines and should include recent references.
Materials and methods
It should contain the description of the procedures followed in the experimenters. The name of the chemicals and the manufacturing company should be mentioned. Submit the math equations and formula as editable text and not as images. Sub-headings with numbers to divide the text is encouraged.
Results and discussion
It should contain the major findings. This section may be combined into a single section or presented separately. There should not be any significant repetition of the experimental procedures in this section.
Short summary and the potential research outcome
Conflict of interest statement
Mention, if any authors have conflict of interest in the research article
It should contain the research grant numbers and the address of the sponsor.
Reference should be in the alphabet order with numbers

Tables and figures
Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerics (Table - 1, Table – 2, etc) and each table must start on a separate page at the end of the manuscript. Footnote should be typed at the bottom of the table in italic. The same data should not be presented in both table and graph form.
Review process and manuscript submission
The editor is chief and the editorial board reserves all the rights to make the grammatical changes in the manuscripts and boards decisions regarding the suitability and acceptance of the manuscript for the publications is final. The editorial committees have the rights not to justify these conditions. Manuscripts should be sent, only electronically as single word file. Use e-mail through the website: firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com and send along the necessary files to the message.
Proofs and reprints
The editorial staff will send the galley proofs to the corresponding author as a PDF file for final evaluation. Page proofs are considered to be the final version of the article. With the exception of typographical errors, no changes will be made in the manuscript at the proof stage.
South Indian Journal of Biological Sciences (SIJBS) is an international open access scientific journal published quarterly from South Indian Society for Biological Sciences. All subscriptions
are payable in advance. Journal is sent by air to all the countries except Indian subcontinent. Subscriptions are on an annual basis (four issues in one year). Annual subscription rate is Rs.
1000 for individuals and Rs. 2500 for libraries in India. Annual subscription rate for foreign authors is $ 200 for individuals and $ 250 for libraries. Subscriptions are entered on an annual basis and are subject to renewal in subsequent years. Subscription information is available in the journal website.
